Hello

Checking in, Emily has been very sick. Strep throat. Well it's been a long rough week. She is on the mend now. We went to see the heart doctor yesterday. Emily got an excellent report. Her blueness is called "Swimming Pool Syndrome" by my doctor. He said it's just because she is cringing from the cold, and her fair skin. The 2 patches on her heart are fine. Everything looks excellent, he was very pleased. She is on the mend now, so hopefully we will back in the swing of things soon. I've been up for 3 or 4 days with not much sleep, so I'll catch up to everyone this weekend.......

BUSTED!

It's a good thing I love this child!!!

We won't even talk about the rest of the room!!!

Powerful Video....a Must See

Everyone needs to see this...................

Ladies,
I do not normally pass on links but this one is very important to the future of some of our children, Please view the video and pass it on to everyone you know. We need to be aware and prepared to fight for legislation to help these precious little people
Have a great day!

Janet asked about the pictures

The first picture is my sons visiting our agency's orphanage. These children can't be adopted because they have family living in China, but these family members can't support their child. So our agency provides a home and education for them. My boys loved the visit because they got to play with the boys. Boys are allowed to play basketball, but not girls. The boys also learn karate and Hayden enjoyed playing with them. I should say the even though our Chinese is limited, my boys did very well playing with the children. I saw a lot of hand signals going on. The girls learn dance. Ok I won't comment, but my tomboy self doesn't deal with that well.
These children are 4 to a room. There is barely enough room to get in and out. Honestly I've seen bigger walk in closets. Yet I saw all of them getting along and playing together....can you imagine this in America? My kids have their own room and fight, fight, fight......we have much to learn.

The second photo is a school on a field trip. Everywhere we went in China the children all waved and said "Hello." My boys said "Ni Hao." Then they all laughed at each other. It was funny to watch them. They wear uniforms to school and darn it they look so cute!!

And the award goes to..................

Thanks to Jonni for the nomination..........now I'm supposed to pick five blogs I love to read and they are supposed to pick five that haven't been picked and we all have to post the blog award.....ok sorry people I'm not good at this......

Well I'm picking people who are still in the Wait and inspire me with their strength!!

So without further delay.....................and no particular order!!

Catherine/Catherines Chatter........who is a wonderful inspiration to all of us! Even thought we have just met in blogland I feel like we have known each other for years!

Fliss/Fliss and Mikes Adventures...great friend, calls, listens to me whine, even when she is still waiting, she is thinking of me! I'm so proud to call her friend!
She will be just an awesome MOM!!

Amy/Amys Adoption Blog....Amy never lets life get her down! She has been a real inspiration to me!! She always has a great pick me up on her blog!

Kathryn/Journey to Emma Rose....Kathryn is just a wonderful person who is waiting for her little one. Sometimes life gets to her, but she keeps the faith!!

Sandy/Journey to Audrey...Sandy has had some rough ups and downs, but she doesn't let that stop her! She keeps on going!! Sandy does have her referral, but she is still waiting on final papers. Sandy and I have been thru a lot and I hope I've been there for her, as she has been for me!!

Ok folks I could only pick 5, so now it's your turn!!!!

Korea?

Ok a quick note before I must start work.....

We went to a sandwich shop yesterday...that is run by Asian Americans....
The lady asked if Emily was Chinese...I kinda looked at her funny and said yes.....

So she says "Excuse me, not to upset you, your daughter has brown hair." Well I knew Emily's hair was light, but figured it was due to lack of vitamins in China......

She tells me "She is what we call MIXED, she is part Korean I believe."

WOW!

Well she thought she had upset me, but I LOVED getting that info.... Emily was from Shaanxi...no where near Korea....I wonder, I wonder, I wonder......could her daddy be a Korean?

Picture is my brother with Emily...he was skinny all his life and used to pick on me about being chubby......LOL ...my how things change......LOL.....

Are you holding your breath?

3:30 AM Sunday morning our time....Jane will hold Maddie for the 1st time in Shaanxi China!! I hope to be able to post a photo on here tomorrow!! I can't wait...

On another note...I've spoken to a couple of wonderful moms out there....you know who you are....and they have told me not to worry about Emily, that this may not be a big deal. I'm feeling better now....but I am still going to rest better after I talk to the doctors.....I know Emily is doing great because she has the energy of 3 children!!! I swear this child never sleeps!!!!

Any who....everyone have a wonderful weekend....I'm off to spend time with the wee ones at the park.............

Keep the faith, dreams really do come true....................

Emily

Ok now that Jane is safely on her way to China, I want to bring up the subject of Emily.

I've been finding that when Emily is cold, her hands and feet appear to be a little blue.

As you all know Emily is VSD/ASD repaired in China.

Well it's freaking me out to no end, and I made her an appointment at Children's Hospital on Jan 24th....they can't see her until then.

So now I sit and worry and pray I guess.

Bruce said I'm making something out of nothing and being one of "those" moms.
Well I hope he is right.

Wow 5 days.............

So I'm reading thru all your blogs and I just have to say....5 days!! How much slower can it get. Friends I don't know what to say. I feel guilty telling you what a wonderful Christmas it was for us because I know most of you are still waiting. I feel for all of you, I really do. Hubby and I switched to sn for this and many other reasons...... One biggie was that hubby is 46 and we are just getting old!!! Our sw put us down for as young as possible and we just couldn't see starting out with a baby at 40 and 46......Bless those of you that can do it!!! Emily has been home for 2 months and she is still not sleeping thru the night. She is 2 years old. I really feel like an old lady some days!! I could also see my oldest son coming home with his new baby while I was diapering his sister......

I don't want to make light of the situation at all. I love all you guys and I wish there was some wonderful thing I could tell you. I can say that there are babies, babies, babies, in China!! I saw them!! They can make up all the stories they want!!

I just found out a friend has turned to another country and she has her referral. What a wonderful blessing!!! The baby is just so cute. I can't say who, she doesn't want it public.....but she too was feeling the wait was going to destroy her dream of having a family.

I'm sending you all hugs, and I hope that this 5 days was just the year end China blues, and that February will bring many, many, many more referrals...............

PS..Emily thought the lights on my head were very funny......................

Back to Work

Well the vacation is over. Now it is back to work. Blogging will be slow around here for a while. I have 3 projects going at the moment and they are going to take some time. I am keeping up with everyone...so know I'm here!!

Hope this is the year for my April 2006 Lid Group. I can still remember my agency telling me that CCAA never goes over 10 months to referral.....wow........how things change.

We had a really nice Christmas. I'm having some trouble with the camera so pictures are coming.......

Here is an oldie....................
