Our weekend Project

Well I am now at 12 months LID so we are starting to finally prepare for this child! Anthony is moving to the spare room in the basement. Don't get me started, I'm still having nightmares about this. Yesterday he was a baby, now this Sept. he turns 10! He can't wait to be in the basement, and away from his little brother. Poor Hayden, he says he wants to stay in Emily's room. He hates being by himself!

Anyway, since Anthony was born almost, he has wanted to fly helicopters. Well hopefully I will get the after picture posted. He did the clouds.....aren't they cute! The pink room was from the people that owned the home before us. The picture isn't good. This is an awful shade of pink.....with GREEN flowers....what were they thinking??? Anyway, I love this shade of blue!

I'm thinking I will do Emily's room in pink, and sponge a darker shade of pink over it. My friend did this and it looks so nice! I thought it was wallpaper until she showed me... I bought a ceiling fan, but now it won't match my new color choice, so I hope Lowe's will take it back!! If not, we will have a lovely girlie fan in Hayden's room.....ha ha

Anyway, I have three rooms left to paint, so this is how I'm keeping busy!!

40 SOME YEARS AGO......Ok I'll be nice! It's my sister's birthday on Monday. She is sitting in Dad's lap. Dad said she was the cute one....ok bleck!! tee hee!!
Ok, ok, we fought like cats and dogs, but we are best friends now. I'm the baby.

Wordless Wednesday

One year ago....

Ok I'm a couple of days early, but I know what my week is looking like and it's not looking like a lot of free time to blog. Well it's been a year. What can I say? We still don't feel we are thru the review room yet. Such a slow process! When we went LID the agency said, "Oh you will go to China in February!" Little did we know it would be Feb 2008! Well we could possibly find Emily on the next sn list, but we are a little bit afraid to put our hopes there. I believe that the sn route is even harder for many familys. You have to know, and see a child, that you can't adopt. I think it's better to not know. We were offered a child's file, but had to pass the file to someone else. Believe me that was very very HARD! But we knew we could not handle it, and that she did have a family waiting for her, and if we had accepted the file, it would have delayed her adoption. So we feel we made the right decision for the child, and for our family. We do pray for this child and her new family, and we are very happy for them.

Well dad begins the serious of tests on Monday, and he sees the surgeon on Wednesday. Please everyone take a moment and think of him on Wednesday. He needs this surgeon to ok the surgery. We need to remove this tumor.

WHERE IS SPRING?????????????

Well we returned from dad's appointment with the cancer doctors. We sat in that office from 2:15 to 4:45. It was awful! And nothing got done! They just told us that after we met with the surgeon to give them a call. If they can operate, then dad waits 4 weeks to start radiation. If they won't operate (dad has a bad heart), then they will start radiation the next day. UGH! Wait, wait, wait! It's driving dad nuts!! ........and me!

Dad goes for ANOTHER CT scan on Monday. Then FINALLY he sees the surgeon on Wednesday!! So no news until next Wednesday!!!

On the adoption front......we are number 6 on the sn waiting list now! Whoopie!

Everyone is Down

Everyone in my Lid group is down about the wait. It's sad. I honestly haven't had too much time to think about it. When I'm upset, I organize. You should see my walk in closet! Right now with all that is going on, I'm really not ready.....which means......my referral is coming....ha ha ha......seriously I hope dad is doing much better before I have to leave for China, because that would really upset me to have to go now and leave him as he is at the moment. He has two surgeries coming up. The first one is May the 1st. The second one has not been set up yet. I want to get these two things behind us as soon as possible so he can be in recovery!!

We try to take the kids to the museums in DC at least 2 times a year. This is the photo of the Natural Science Museum.....Hayden's Favorite. I must admit I like going too. They are good about changing things, so every like 6 months I think, there is something new.

Well this is a picture of my dad. Wow did I have a problem logging in to Blogger...does anyone else have this trouble?? I was ready to scream!

Anyway, you have all heard me talk about my dad being sick. This picture is about 2 yrs old and I could hardly believe the difference! My dad is skinny now. He has lost a LOT of weight....
